In recent years, Dubai Maritime City has proven to be one of the best locations for maritime activities. The facility was announced years ago, and we have seen it grow at a swift pace. The facilities of Dubai Maritime City were promoted at one of the Expos. Since then, a lot of ship owners have shown their interest in investments at Dubai maritime City.
The Expo was held at the Capital Club at the well-known Dubai International Finance Centre, and this particular meeting was attended by many of the great personalities. Among the attendees, there was Khamis Juma Buamin who is the Chairman of Drydocks World & Maritime World. Nikolas Veniamis also attended the meeting and Nikolas is the President of Hellenic Shipping Association in Greece. He is also the Chairman & Owner of Golden Union Shipping, Greece. Another guest of honour was Vinod Shah who represents ADANI Group in Gujarat in India. Apart from these personalities, Robert Murhead attended the meeting, and he is the CEO of Mur Shipping. Muhammad Tahir Lakhani along with his son participated in the meeting, and as you might know, Tahir is the Chairman of DTA Ship Trading LLC, and Ali is the MD of the company.
In the meeting, the guests majorly discussed the investment opportunities and the future of investment at DMC. In addition to this, the guest of honours also discussed their corporation in this project. Mr Nikolas Veniamis expressed his interest in Dubai Maritime City, and he mentioned about setting up the exclusive operating centre in Dubai. At the meeting, Buamin assured all guests that he would personally supervise the commitments at the Dubai Maritime, and he will ensure that all the commitments are met with full diligence.
Khamis Buamin also quoted that he would like to diversify the portfolio at DMC and he would like to take extra efforts to ensure that all the demands of the global region are met without any issues. Khamis Buamin had always been concerned about the environment, and he took this opportunity to launch the Green Initiative wherein he mentioned the use of eco-friendly technology in all the possible programs. He also expressed his interest in LNG, and he mentioned about a project wherein DMC would adapt to Tugs powered by LNG. This will help in reducing the impact of greenhouse gases by reducing the emission. He also informed investors that the work is already in progress for the LNG Powered Tugs and that their groups are closely working with DNV as well as Rolls Royce to develop the technology.
Dubai Maritime City is already getting a lot of attention from the global players, and the convenient location of the city has helped the group in securing more business and more investment. At present, DMC proves to be the most diversified shipyard, and it is going to experience exponential growth in the coming years.
